Polar Plunge 2011- Freezin' for a Reason!
The Polar Plunge is a unique opportunity for individuals, organizations and businesses to support Special Olympics Utah athletes by collecting pledges and donations for being brave enough to jump into the frigid icy waters of Utah in the middle of winter.
To become a Polar Plunge participant you can register on-line prior to the event, choose from below the location or locations that you want to attend. When you register, make sure you print out a pledge form and collect pledges from friends, family and co-workers, in exchange for jumping into icy waters in the middle of winter. All participants with a minimum pledge of $25, will receive a commemorative 2011 "I took the Plunge" long-sleeve t-shirt. But remember, this is a fundraiser for Special Olympics Utah so go out and get pledges and help raise money for our athletes. And whether you're a plunger or a spectator, it will be a grrrrreat day… with food, prizes, costume contest and fun for all.
You must raise/donate a minimum of $25 to be a plunger, however if you raise more money, you receive the following:
$25 - $50 = Shirt $51 - $250 = Shirt & Beanie $251 - $750 = Shirt, Beanie & Zippered Hoodie $751 - $999 = Shirt, Beanie, Zippered Hoodie & Fleece blanket $1000+ = All of the above, plus a Parka (ordered after the event)
The Polar Plunge is a fundraiser benefiting Special Olympics Utah, hosted by the Law Enforcement Torch Run Its purpose is to simply raise funds and promote awareness to enhance Special Olympics' mission: To provide year-round sports training and competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
